GENERAL
WTC 2027 is the World Taido Championships — four days of competition, seminars, and gathering for taidoka from around the world.
Alongside the 9th World Taido Championships, the event includes the 17th International Taido Friendship Games (ITFG), open to competitors aged 18 and above, and the 2nd Taido Junior World Games (TJWG), for competitors aged 13–17.
There will also be seminars and shinsa for higher grades. The social programme includes a closing banquet and evening activities for both participants and accompanying guests.
The World Taido Championships is open to national teams only.
The International Taido Friendship Games is open to all taidoka aged 18 and above.
The Junior World Games is open to all taidoka aged 13–17.
Yes, the seminars are open to all taidoka, regardless of age or grade. Instructors include Abe Sensei, 8 dan Hanshi, and Mikael Jansson, 8 dan Hanshi. Further instructors will be announced in due course.
REGISTRATION
Registration for the Friendship Games and Junior World Games is done via your club – details will follow. National teams for the World Championships are registered centrally through the national associations — details will follow.
Registration for seminars, the banquet, and other activities will be available through a booking function on the official website www.wtc2027.se. The booking function will launch later in 2026.
Registration for the World Championships goes through the national associations. Registration for the ITFG and TJWG is done through Kihapp, via your club.
Other elements — seminars, shinsa, the banquet, and so on — are registered individually through the website www.wtc2027.se. Your national association will be informed of the activities you sign up for.
Prices for competition entry, seminars, and activities will be announced later in 2026.
